Generate Random Email Addresses for Logins Using 1Password

I’ve been using 1Password for many years and it’s one of the more full-featured and easy-to-use password managers out there.

We sign up for all kinds of new services and access websites and apps every day, giving out our email address each time. Apple introduced Sign in with Apple and Hide My Email to protect your email address online, and now 1Password is offering a similar service.

1Password has partnered with the email host Fastmail to introduce a new privacy feature called Masked Email. This tool allows you to create unique email addresses for your logins. These email addresses are created directly in the 1Password app and stored there, allowing you to access them on every platform where 1Password is available.

Masked Email adds an extra layer of security to all your accounts. Avoid sharing your email address every time you sign up for a service or access a website. We’ve all heard about the many data breaches happening on many websites and services. Protect yourself from these breaches and spam by not using your actual email address. Masked Email also helps protect you from phishing, which has become all too common.

Because 1Password is an extension in popular browsers, you can create unique email addresses on the fly without leaving the sign-up page on a website. 1Password already allows you to create strong passwords on the fly, and now creating emails addresses is just as simple.

1Password syncs with Fastmail, so you get your email right away in your Fastmail account. 1Password allows you to separate your online identities, and Fastmail will enable you to view all your emails in one account. And you can turn off email addresses like you would turn off virtual credit card numbers.
