Firefox is one of our favorite Browsers here at groovyPost. We’ve talked about it a lot! Previously, we explained how to manually update Firefox and today I’m going to review how to configure Firefox to automatically check for and install updates / upgrades.
Editors Note: Firefox updates so often these days that by the time you read this, things might look a little different. That’s OK. Chances are, if you follow the steps closely even if the version changes, the process should still be relatively the same.
Click Tools, Options in Firefox’ pull-down menu (if that doesn’t appear by default, press the Left Alt on your keyboard to show the file menus at the top of Firefox).
In the window that pops up, go to Advanced in the Tab row above, then Update in the one below.
Now, for the last step. Choose Automatically install updates and I suggest also ticking Warn me if this will disable any of my add-ons (just in case). Then, click OK.
That’s it! Now there should be nothing to worry about (except maybe for Firefox restarting at times, after a big update).
