Apple Hikes Prices On Many of its Subscription Services
Apple appears to be raising the prices for several of its subscription services, including the Apple One bundles.
Almost exactly a year since the last increase, Apple is once again raising the prices of many of its subscription services. The Cupertino-based tech giant hasn’t issued formal announcements of the price changes. Still, the official website reflects new pricing of individual services and the Apple One bundle hiking the prices by as much as an additional $5 US per month.
Higher Pricing for Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, and More
If you only subscribe to individual Apple services, most, but not all, will soon cost you more. This comes as many other streaming services increase their subscription fees, including YouTube Premium, Disney+, Hulu, and more.
The price hikes range from $2 to $3 per month, as follows:
- Gaming subscriptions for Apple Arcade are increasing from $4.99 per month to $6.99 monthly.
- Apple News+, formerly $9.99 each month, will rise to $12.99 monthly.
- Apple TV+, which used to cost just $6.99 a month, is going to run you $9.99 monthly.
This is the first time Cupertino has increased pricing for Apple Arcade and Apple News+ since they launched. It’s the second time, though, that the tech giant has increased its pricing for Apple TV+.
So far, there don’t appear to be any plans to increase the cost of Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, or iCloud+ subscriptions.
Apple One Bundle Pricing Also Affected
Don’t think that bundling the services will spare you a price increase, though. Apple is also raising its subscription rates for the three tiers of the Apple One bundle.
- Apple One Individual increases from $16.95 to $19.95 per month.
- The Family tier bundle is going up from $22.95/month to $25.95/month.
- Apple One Premier, which used to cost $32.95 per month, will rise to $37.95 per month.
The new prices take effect immediately for new subscribers, but existing subscribers will have a bit of time before their wallets get hit with the price hikes.
Existing subscribers should begin receiving emails notifying them of the increases. The new prices will go into effect for them in 30 days, or on their next renewal date after that grace period. Checking my subscription shows that I’m likely still paying the old subscription price when it renews in November, so I suppose I’ll have less available money to look forward to in December.
